About

Willem started with undergraduate studies at Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and eventually also completed his doctorate – after research at the University of Tübingen in Germany – in Social Ethics at the same university. He has worked as researcher at a number of institutions, including Stellenbosch University, the University of Bamberg (Germany), the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Business School (Port Elizabeth, South Africa), and the Humboldt University in Berlin (Germany). He currently teaches ethics at the University of Pretoria. In his research he focuses on the ethics of systems and institutions, with particular reference to the interaction between business, politics and civil society in developing contexts.
